I lived the first five decades of my life in the Midwest. Moving to western New York might have given me new scenery out my window—forests, mountain views even a lake or two. Ironically, we plunked ourselves down in this little pocket of agricultural land. Looks a lot like home.
I used a combination of folding, layering and embossing heavyweight Rock Paper to create this little landscape. The blue sky and clouds are created from lightweight Rock Paper which, in the case of the clouds, is stretched and torn to look like cumulus clouds. The corn stalk template was an ink brush drawing, which I used to guide my knife cuts.
